Places and Search

Faces
Photos are grouped by the people in them, on F-Stop’s own server. Name them, merge groups, or hide someone; only you see your groups.
Edit Without Regret
Rotate, crop, adjust light and color, or Auto-fix. Fix a wrong date or place for one photo or a whole batch. The original stays untouched, so Revert is always there.
No Double Copies
The same file is never stored twice. Look-alikes and photos with the same name are flagged in your albums, so you keep the best and trash the rest.

Albums
Albums That Stay Organized
Share an album with the people you choose: viewers look and download, contributors add their own photos. Each album has an Extra tab for the ones you’re not sure about, folders for saved social media and AI images, sub-albums, and any order you like, down to dragging photos into place.

Every Photo, Full Screen
The date, place, camera and settings sit right on the photo, and Info has every detail the file carried. Like and comment in shared albums, add a caption, or open the editor to crop and adjust. The original is never touched.
Places
Where It All Happened
Photos with a location land on a map and in a list of countries and cities. Search by place, month, year, holiday or camera: try “rome july 2024” or “christmas”. Exact locations are only ever shown to you.
Stories
Stories for Your Fans
Post a photo or video for your fans for 24 hours. Rings show who has something new, Seen by shows who watched, and replies arrive as encrypted messages. Your past stories stay in your own archive.
On Your Phone
Made for the Phone in Your Pocket
On a phone, F-Stop has tabs along the bottom, swipes between photos and lets you press and hold to select, just like an app. Open fstop.app in your phone’s browser and add it to your Home Screen.

FAQ
Questions Before You Join
How do I join?
F-Stop is invitation-only. If someone you know is a member, they can invite you from Invite people. Otherwise, request an invite on this page and we’ll email you a personal link if there’s room.
Who can see my photos?
Only you, until you share. People see the albums you share with them, and anyone with a link sees only what that link covers. Shared pages never show where a photo was taken, and you can turn a link off at any time.
Are my originals compressed?
No. Every photo and video is stored exactly as you uploaded it, under its own name, and that’s what you download. F-Stop makes separate smaller copies for browsing; edits and crops never change the original, so you can always revert.
Can I get my photos out?
Yes, any time. Download a single original, a selection or a whole album as a .zip, or download an album one photo at a time.
What happens if I delete something?
The trash, removing a photo from an album and deleting an album all hide things, and anything can be brought back. The only way to erase a photo is Delete forever in the trash, which you have to confirm by typing it.
Are my messages private?
Yes. Messages and the photos in them are encrypted in your browser before they leave it, so only you and the person you’re writing to can read them. Email and push notifications say who wrote, never what.
Who sees my faces and places?
Faces are grouped on F-Stop’s own server, and only you see the groups and the names you give them. Place names are worked out there too, so your locations aren’t sent anywhere.
Is there an app?
F-Stop works in any browser, and on a phone it looks and feels like an app. A native Android app is in testing and an iPhone app is next; both are coming to Google Play and the App Store.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, from Account. You’re signed out and hidden right away, and signing in within 30 days cancels it. After that, your account and everything in it (photos, albums, messages, stories and follows) is permanently deleted.
